AUTOMATIC MONITORING SYSTEM FOR IDLERS

SMAP

SMAP, Automatic Monitoring System for Idlers, is a system developed to anticipate and detect in time the operating status of the idlers along a conveyor belt.

Multiple Wireless Monitoring Devices (DMI) are installed at each of the conveyor belt stations to monitor online the operating status of the idlers at that station.

Access to information on mobile devices allows knowing the operating status of a belt at any place and at any time.

ADVANTAGES

  • Increased availability of conveyor belts.
  • Increased material availability, higher production, higher revenue.
  • Reduces unscheduled downtime, lower maintenance costs.
  • Preventive rather than reactive idler change management.
  • Reduces risk to maintenance personnel by replacing visual inspection.
  • Monitors multiple belts.
  • Detection of areas with higher percentage of failures.
  • Evaluates the magnitude and criticality of problems.
  • Stand-alone, easy-to-install wireless monitoring devices.
  • Wireless sensor network.
  • Centralized system located in the operating room.
  • Connected to customer’s internal network for analysis and management.
  • Installation and maintenance without stopping the conveyor belt.
  • Visualization of the system via web-mobile.
  • Suitable to any type of conveyor belt.
  • On-line monitoring of the belts.
  • Monitoring configuration by the user
  • Mobile connectivity
